No pension no preparation for retirement
by Mikejw ina lot of my ex fellow servants must be now in their seventies, what can you do?.
no children no money no home.
it is so sad.. so many decided not to have children as the end was right around the corner and that was decades ago.

It really is ridiculous how much people can get who do nothing and contribute nothing. The same segment of people also consume the lions share of police and healthcare services - everyone else is too busy working and paying their way.
Back in the mid 90's--my job involved working on behalf of the local authority housing department. I often had to deal with young single mothers, who had never had a job--and never likely to. They deliberately got pregnant--as it meant they could get a housing association flat--and get the rent paid by the council. This was on top of the social security payment, child benefit and whatever else they could get.
Often they had more than one child. In most cases there was a boyfriend in the background--who deliberately didnt live with them---or the young woman could have their benefits stopped--and the boyfriend would then have to support them--and pay the rent.
I wish this was an isolated story--but it isnt. It was widespread. These benefit claimants know all the angles.

Elder Arrangement
by vienne inhi everyone, (including the person who down votes all of my posts).
as some of you know, i'm working toward my master's degree.
comments from those associated when the elder arrangement was introduced would help me with a research paper.. what was the reaction among adherents?

when the new elder "arrangement" was in its gestation period--i made an appointment to see the cong servant ( ex branch servant apparently )--it was a sunday morning--i was down to do the public talk that afternoon. I couldnt make head nor tale of the script. I told him i had decided to step back from all involvement--i really wasnt interested in it anymore. He told me he had me down to be one of the elders ! Spirit appointed--?
a while later--next year i think--i was invited to attend what transpired was a committee meeting--held at the hall. There were some laughable trumped up charges levelled against me--which proved unfounded--and the same cong servant ( elder now?) thanked me for coming--and said there were no further charges to answer. I then thanked him--and said from now on i was no longer brother s***** but to call me Mr--or my first name. I no longer wanted anything more to do with the cult. End of.

Booster shots required for Bethelites and special full time servants?
by PimoElder init’s a shame the gov body did a big u turn on vaccines .
if they continue with the rule that only fully vaxed can go back to the hall then i could have stayed on zoom.
but the term fully vaxed is a moving target, if it’s been like six months since your last shot you are just the same as those of us who are unvaxed .

Over the next ten years you are going to see huge health problems in the fully vaxed populations
ok--so what do you suggest these fully vaxed people do ?

But, can somebody who NEVER worked still collect anything? That’s my question.
I would be surprised if they did.
absolutely--the safety net of Uk social security. Makes no difference if the claimant has never worked a day in their lives...which is a fact in many parts of the UK.

@LHG
here in the UK we have a safety net provision called pension credit. It is a means tested benefit for those of retirement age who dont--for whatever reason--qualify for the full or part state pension. So its ideal for pioneers who have never earned enough to qualify for their state pension.
It is quite generous--more so for a couple. it is also a gateway benefit--meaning housing benefit for those who rent rather than own. There are other top up benefits for those with qualifying health issues. It doesnt take too much effort for a retired couple to get £20,000 a year in benefits. Which is probably more than they have ever earned in their lives.

i dont know anyone personally that has died from covid.
i also dont know anyone that has had a life changing or serious reaction to the vaccine.
i even know a lot of people that have had covid--even though they had several jabs--and are now recovered.
and i'm sure there must be lots that have never had the vaccine, and have never been covid positive.
i wouldnt dream of advising anyone to have--or not have --the vaccine---its entirely their choice or decision.
But i CANNOT see any justification in some on here advising others NOT to get vaccinated.---JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP.

i'm just getting over covid:--tested positive last wednesday--been really ill for a few days. tested negative these last 3 days.
Thankfully--like the vast majority of UK citizens--i had 3 jabs--with no ill effects whatsoever. I do think if i hadnt had those jabs i would be in serious trouble now.
